Andreas Schartel studied aerospace computer science at the University of Würzburg where he received his bachelor's degree in 2014. In his thesis, which he wrote at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Braunschweig, he developed a concept for generating diagnostic reports according to the ECSS PUS standard within the tasking framework used at DLR and implemented a functioning prototype. Since 2014, he is enrolled in the Joint European Master in Space Science and Technology programme (also known as SpaceMaster) and will receive his master’s degree in 2016. Andreas has been working at the department of Computer Science VIII since 2012, first as a student assistant within the project ASAP and then, starting in 2014, as a research assistant in project AROS.
