Best PhD Forum Paper Award at IFIP Networking 2026

Carina Baur received the IFIP Networking 2026 Best PhD Forum Paper Award for her work on “Just Another Metric? Towards Optimizing Sustainability Across Multiple Network Components”. The conference was held in Lugano, Switzerland, in May 2026.

The work was carried out within the CELTIC-NEXT EUREKA CLUSTER flagship project SUSTAINET at the Chair of Communication Networks, Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg. The SUSTAINET-advance project aims to improve the sustainability and resilience of 6G networks from RAN to core. It focuses on the interdependence between energy and communication networks, enhancing efficiency and connectivity through advanced monitoring and scalable solutions, leveraging trusted AI and zero-trust frameworks.
