European research project "Graph Drawings and Representations" started

07/13/2011

The chair of computer science I participates in the european research project GraDR, which aims at investigating several problems in relation to graph drawings and representations.

The research project, in which researchers from the universities Prague, Brno, Berlin, Dortmund, Tübingen, Würzburg, Zürich, Budapest, Krakow, Rome, Eindhoven, and Karlsruhe are participating, was startet with a kick-off meeting in Prague on July 7 and 8. Alexander Wolff presented the work package WP2 "Angular Schematization", which will be led by him. To this package belong also the presentations given by Martin Fink ("Drawing Graphs with Vertices at Specified Positions and Crossings at Large Angles") and Joachim Spoerhase ("Approximating Minimum Manhattan Networks in Higher Dimensions") in Prague. The research project will last three years. In 2012, a winter school on its topic will be held in Würzburg.
