    Performance Evaluation of Distributed Systems

    (Leistungsbewertung verteilter Systeme)

Due to the current situation, the lecture will take place online. For further information, please refer to the Wuecampus Course.

    • Summer 2020: 17 July 2020, 10:00, Turing Lecture Hall
      • Please pay attention to current information in the WueCampus Course regarding registration, sanitation and the exact time of the exam start.
    • Winter 2020/21: To be announced.
Note: While we can give you individual support for concrete questions in English, the majority of the documents provided in this course are in German.

    • Traffic modelling
    • Basic concepts of probability theory
    • Transformations
    • Stochastic processes
    • Methodology for the performance evaluation of technical systems
    • Queuing/Traffic theory
    • Anaylsis of markovian, non-markovian and time discrete systems
    • Matrix-analytical methods
    • Application examples: performance evaluation of computer systems and networks - throughput, sojourn time, and other characteristics

    Learning Objectives

Students acquire methodological knowledge and practical skills for modelling technical systems by means of probability theory and mathematical statistics.
