CAD-Model of the Satellite during development
A VSAT antenna without its radom is placed on a table. The white antenna dish convers most of the mechanics used to move the antenna, but the mechanism for rotating the antenna in the azimuth direction is visible. In the middle of the dish is the silver feed, it points to the top left of the image. The scene takes place outdoors in front of a guarage door.
VSAT antennas like this are typically used on ships to enable internet access on the high sees - we plan to use it to communicate with our satellites.
The TotemSDR, a blue-ish PCB with the top half of it convered by shielding, is placed on a bigger green PCB, the EGSE. Multiple wires connect the SDR with the EGSE. Power and communication cables (UART, Ethernet) are connected to the EGSE, an RF cable is connected to the SDR, the other connections are terminated.
The Software Defined Radio (SDR) board is placed on the Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) board during development and testing.
