17.10.2026

Over the weekend from October 9 to 11, we had a fantastic time at the Light & Sound Game Jam at the University of Würzburg's SPEKTRUM Labs! Here, we post a short summary of the event :D

Over the weekend from October 9 to 11, we had a fantastic time at the Light & Sound Game Jam at the University of Würzburg's SPEKTRUM Labs!

The Game Jam invited its participants to explore how light & sound can be used to create intense atmospheric enironments in interactive systems, as game mechanics, to drive novel interaction mechanics or whatever other direction comes to mind :D

MA Lighting Technology greatly supported the event with food, drinks, hardware, expertise and guidance, and even prices for the three most impressive projects! Big cudos <3

Seven breath-taking projects emerged: from arcade games that feature lighthouses and dancefloors over the beat of the music that drives city light scapes and lets organic life forms grow, snooker in a light-augmented billard table to cooperative exploration games that bring light into shadows, multiplayer jump and run titles that bend light to advance to the spiritual sensation created when light shines though the stained glass windows of a cathedral.

A flabbergastingly brilliant experience! Thank you for everyone who joined and contributed to this great event!

The projects that unfolded the greatest potential in the short time of the workshop were awarded.
