Guido Dietl received the Dipl.-Ing. and Dr.-Ing. degrees (both summa cum laude) in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from the Technische Universität München (TUM, Munich University of Technology), Munich, Germany, in 2001 and 2006, respectively.
He has been with the TUM from 2001 to 2006 where he was working as a Research Engineer on reduced-rank signal processing in Krylov subspaces and on its application to wireless multiuser communications. In Winter 2000/2001 and Summer 2004, he was a Guest Researcher at Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, USA. In Fall 2005, he visited the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra, ACT, Australia. He joined DOCOMO Communications Laboratories Europe GmbH (DOCOMO Euro-Labs), Munich, Germany, as a Senior Researcher in 2006, managed the Advanced Radio Transmission Team, and worked as a Research Specialist on multicell multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications until the end of 2017. From April 2010 to July 2011, Dr. Dietl was an Adjunct Lecturer at the TUM and from March 2012 to March 2022, he was Professor of Communications Engineering and Head of the Communications Laboratory at the Landshut University of Applied Sciences, Landshut, Germany. In September 2014, he visited the Shanghai Normal University, Shanghai, China, as a Guest Professor. Since April 2022, Dr. Dietl is Professor of Satellite Communication and Radar Systems at the Julius-Maximilians-University of Würzburg, Germany.
Guido Dietl is an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions On Vehicular Technology in the area of Wireless Communications.
