About me

I’m a Sevillian researcher with a Berliner Heart passionate about robotics and autonomous systems. I hold an MSc in Autonomous systems awarded by EIT-Digital Master SchoolTechnische Universität Berlin, and Eurecom. Under the supervision of Prof. Marios Kountoris and Dr. Dimitrios Tsilimantos, I wrote my thesis, “The Value of Minimal Information Exchange in Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning” which proposed an innovative method to learn distributed policies for networked agents. Before joining the LiteRL Group at the JMU Würzburg  in April of 2023, I worked as AI and Optimization Researcher at DAI-Labor, Technische Universität Berlin. There I worked on the project HyMAS, developing Multi-Agent Intelligent systems for automated manufacturing.

Furthermore, I have extensive experience as an R&D software engineer in multiple domains, such as Robotics and Cloud Computing. During my career, I have collaborated with companies such as Amazon Robotics and Deutsche Telekom. In addition, I also worked as a research intern at Merlin Lab, Politecnico di Milano, under the supervision of Prof. Paolo Rocco, and at RSIM Lab, TU BERLIN, under the supervision of Prof. Begün Demir. While at RSIM, I developed a novel deep learning method based on cGAN for binary change detection for bi-temporal satellite imagery, which got published at IGARSS 2020.

My current research interest covers the intersection between robotics and Reinforcement learning. Concretely, In my thesis, I explore the potential of combining Hierarchical Learning with Curriculum methods to enable legged robots to discover and learn complex locomotion strategies.

Further interests are deep learning architectures, reasoning, representation learning, recommender systems, multi-agent systems, and human-robot collaboration.

Hobbies: You can always find me cooking some fine dishes “My Spanish Ramen is Famous”, going around with my bike, doing some yoga, or practicing some boulderin
