    A video report (de) with an interview with Prof. Kayal was published for the BR Frankenschau. In it, he explains the background to the satellite launch and gives an insight into the professorship's mission control center, which was described by the Bavarian Minister of Science, M. Blume, as'Houston am Main'

    The SONATE-2 launch to test AI technologies in space attracted a great deal of media attention, including an article in the Tagesschau (de), which shed light on the background to the mission and the work at the professorship.

    SONATE-2 successfully entered orbit

    After an exciting launch on board SpaceX's Transporter -10 mission, SONATE-2 has arrived safely in orbit. SONATE-2 was launched on 04.03.2024 at 23:05 (CET).

    The first contact attempt, just 15 minutes after ejection, was successful and the telemetry data shows that the satellite is stable and healthy. LEOP operations are currently underway to prepare the satellite for operational deployment to test the Ki payload.
