Best Paper Award at CNSM 2025
11/05/2025The paper “Irreconcilable Differences? Investigating Consensus of Post-hoc XAI for ML-NIDS via Decomposition” by Katharina Dietz, Stefan Geissler, and Tobias Hoßfeld from the Chair of Communication Networks at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, together with Johannes Schleicher and Michael Seufert from the University of Augsburg, was honored with the Best Student Paper Award at the 21st International Conference on Network and Service Management (CNSM 2025).
The 21st International Conference on Network and Service Management (CNSM) took place in Bologna, Italy, on October 27-31, 2025. Katharina Dietz presented her research on how decomposing and decorrelating features can improve the limited consensus among different explainers of machine learning models — a key challenge that currently hinders their practical deployment and use by network operators.
