ElRobot

The aim of this cooperative project is the development of an automated robotic system for creating precise cable slots and drill holes for light switches, sockets, as well as ceiling and wall lighting, based on DIN 18015. This is achieved through the innovative approach of a modular and mobile robot-based system combined with a multi-stage detection process and adaptive self-calibration of sensors and process parameters. The modular and mobile robot system is designed to enable completely autonomous execution of tasks without requiring manual intervention by individuals. The system's modularity aims to allow quick setup and dismantling, as well as easy transport. The robot's mobility is to be realized through a mobile platform, enabling flexible operation in various zones and locations within a building and automated processing of a room. The multi-stage detection process is intended to accurately capture the environment, including the localization of walls, components, existing installations, and tools, ensuring precise planning and execution of the tasks. The adaptive self-calibration is designed to allow the robot to autonomously adjust to the specific conditions of the environment. The sensor system collects measurement data, and autonomously generates work paths and processing strategies that are adjusted in real-time to changes in the environment. As a result, it should be possible to conduct operations without programming effort, with only the need to manually mark the cable routes in advance. Compared to manual processing, this development aims to reduce the workload and physical strain on employees for electrical installations by 95%.
