NaSA-OMI - Das Netz-als-Sensor: Analyse des Kernnetzes konvergenter Mobilfunksysteme zur Entwicklung neuer Geschäftsmodelle und optimierter Network Intelligence
(November 2025 – December 2028)
The NaSA-OMI project uses Network Intelligence (NI) to detect and analyze issues in global mobile networks, such as faults, malware, and inefficiencies, and to develop intelligent mechanisms for monitoring and improving network performance, enabling new value-added services. Driven by IoT growth and emerging satellite connectivity (GEO/LEO), the project explores integrating advanced analytics and new connectivity technologies to enhance global mobile communication systems.
Optimized Resource Integration and Global Architecture for Mobile Infrastructure for 6G (ORIGAMI)
(January 2024 - January 2027)
The ORIGAMI project brings together leading players from industry and academia in the mobile telco ecosystem in Europe, and is funded by the European Commission as part of the 6G Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU). During the 2023-2025 time frame, the ORIGAMI consortium works towards advancing the architectural models of next-generation mobile networks and removing important barriers towards successful 6G technologies.
Vergangene Projekte
Optimierung und Modellierung eines IoT-zentrischen Mobilfunkkernnetzes (OMI)
(Oktober 2022 - September 2025)
As part of this project, work will be carried out to optimize a fully virtualized mobile core network environment in the area of the Internet of Things. The focus should include quality assurance, investigating network anomalies, identifying device-specific traffic characteristics, developing metrics to assess the Quality of Experience (QoE) at the user plane level, and system optimization for resource-limited devices.
5CALE - Massive scaling of fully virtualized 5G mobile core networks in the context of IoT
(Februray 2019 - January 2022)
Within the project, new scaling methods and resource management approaches are being developed for the next generation 5G mobile communication network with IoT traffic. It is funded within the 5G call "Digitale Offensive" of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs with a total budget of one million euros and a term of 3 years.
KOSINU5 - Konvergierte deterministische Industrienetze in heterogenen Umgebungen mit Campus-5G
(October 2021 - September 2024)
The aim of this project is to develop robust, scalable industrial networks for intelligent factories and to evaluate their performance. Real-time requirements are placed on the industrial network and guarantees are required for the communication networks of the factory of the future.
