Research assistant

Benjamin studied computer science at the University of Würzburg. During this time he worked as a student assistant at the Chair for Artificial Intelligence where he supported the work on the TextMarker project (now Apache UIMA Ruta). In 2014 he graduated as a Master of Science with a specialization in artificial intelligence. The topic of the thesis was “A Semantic Representation of Physical Objects in VR” (PEARS). In 2015 he was nominated for the ‘award for an outstanding master’s thesis in computer science’ of the faculty association of computer science in Germany.

Since 2014, Benjamin has been working as a research assistant at the Media Informatics Group. In his research he combines semantic and spatial representations of contextual knowledge in mixed reality, e.g. within the dedicated smart lab. His interests include intelligent virtual environments, semantic technologies, mixed reality, and agents.
