Summary

The goal of the project is to improve the energy efficiency in the future Internet. Thereby, it has to be taken into account that a decrease of the energy consumption often leads to a performance decrease as well. This trade-off between energy consumption and performance is analyzed in this project with focus on data centers. These data centers are generally dimensioned to cover the peak utilization and redundancy is added for resilience. In this project, we want to analyze how much energy can be saved without loosing data in case of errors and while still supporting the user expected quality.
