The article "Matching Labels and Markers in Historical Maps: An Algorithm with Interactive Postprocessing" by Benedikt Budig, Thomas C. van Dijk, and Alexander Wolff has been selected for the "Best of Computing" list of notable ACM publications in 2016.
The ACM Computing Review has selected the article for their 21st annual list of the best ACM publications. This year, the list consists of 231 entries in 11 categories. The article, which is about extracting metadata from scans of old maps, was listed in the category "Theory of Computation". It has been published in the ACM Transactions on Spatial Algorithms and Systems in November 2016 and can be found here. Chair I is happy to receive this recognition.
