Akademy 2024 will take place at JMU
04.05.2024The University of Würzburg (Chair of Robotics), will be hosting "Akademy 2024. Akademy is the annual world summit of KDE, one of the largest Free Software communities in the world. It is a free, non-commercial event organized by the KDE Community. Hundreds of attendees from the global KDE Community, the broad free and open-source software community, local organizations, and software companies will gather in Würzburg, Germany, and virtually from Saturday, September 7th, to Thursday, September 12th, for the annual conference 'Akademy 2024.'
KDE developers, artists, designers, translators, users, writers, sponsors, and supporters from around the globe, who collaborate online throughout the year, will meet face-to-face. They will engage in discussions on crucial technological matters, explore novel ideas, and reinforce KDE's innovative and dynamic culture.
"Akademy 2024" will be a hybrid event, blending in-person and remote interactions. The event will feature talks, discussions, workshops, interest groups, training sessions, and collaborative code development meetings. KDE, an international collective dedicated to developing and disseminating Free and Open Source Software for desktop and laptop computers, has produced a diverse array of applications for communication, productivity, education, and entertainment. Central to its ethos is the pursuit of innovative solutions to both longstanding and emerging challenges, fostering a lively and open environment for experimentation.
