Summary
Harald Wojtkowiak studied mechatronics at the FH Aschaffenburg (University of Applied Sciences) and finished his diploma in Sept. 2006. His major field of study was on the one hand information and automation technology and on the other hand automotive mechatronics and automotive safety. During his diploma thesis he wrote an administration and database application for the measure and test centre of TRW Aschaffenburg, a manufacturer for automotive steering wheels and airbags.
After he had finished his studies in mechatronics, he added a second consecutive master-study (M.Eng. - Master of Engineering) in Electrical Engineering. The main part of this study was the research and development of an electronic control unit (ECU) for automotive diesel engines, especially for the laboratory operation.
After one year in the automotive industry, where he worked as a hardware and software developer, he changed to the University of Würzburg as a Research Assistant involved in the STELLA project. In August 2009 he started his PhD-studies under the supervision of Prof. Hakan Kayal at the Department of Computer Science. His research is focused on pico and nano satellites. Special interests are autonomous star sensors and miniaturization of space systems and components.
