Some recent Results on Phylogenetic Network Reconstruction

Phylogenetic networks are labeled graphs that are used by biologists to model and visualize the evolutionary history of a set of species. In the literature, various types of such networks are considered. In this talk, we will first give a brief overview over some of those types and the methods commonly used to construct them from biological data. We will then focus on some computational and combinatorial problems that arise in this context and present some recent results related to them.
