Objectives of the IECAT-Project

Hardware experiments are quite expensive, therefore cooperation in tele-experiments exhibits valuable potential:

  • to offer a broader range of motivating experiments beyond the areas of expertise at the home institution
  • for more efficient use of facilities
  • for international student teams to install these facilities together
  • to familiarize the students with modern telematics methods in parallel to the given experiment
  • to intensify university cooperation, leading to increased student mobility and cultural exchange
