The paper 'On the Right Track! Analysing and Predicting Navigation Success in Wikipedia' has been published on the HyperText'19 conference.

Am 6. November ist im Welz-Haus die neue Reihe „Würzburger Gespräche“ gestartet. Veranstaltet vom Siebold-Collegium – Institute for Advanced Studies (SCIAS) der Universität diskutieren dort Wissenschaftler aktuelle Themen.

On the 10th of October Prof. Hotho took part in a panel discussion on artificial intelligence in Lower Franconia. Together with the State Minister for Digitalization, Dorothee Bär, Michael Wrensch from Brose and Matthias Bauer from Vogel Communications, he discussed the current state of AI in Würzburg and its significance for everyday life.

The European Conference for Machine Learning (ECML) was held in Würzburg from 16.10. - 20.10.19. The LSX organized the conference as one of the local chairs in cooperation with the HCI. With over 800 participants it was a challenging week, but also a very interesting and successful one.

The Summer School on Machine Learning and Data Mining for Geo-Spatial Data & Volunteered Geographic Information, Quality of Experience, and Human-Computer Interaction (EPSS’19) took place from 11th to 16th September September in Würzburg.

Die bayrische Staatsministerin für Digitales besuchte die Universität Würzburg um über aktuelle Themen der KI und die Zukunft der Digitalisierung zu diskutieren.

Die ersten Bienen sind in einen der digitalen Bienenstöcke des we4Bee Projekts eingezogen.

Prof. Dr. Andreas Hotho ist mit Wirkung vom 27.05.2019 zum Universitätsprofessor für Informatik X (Data Science) ernannt worden. Die DMIR Gruppe wird daher zum eigenständigen Lehrstuhl.

Im Februar 2019 startet das Projekt we4bee unter der Leitung von Prof. Tautz. Wir unterstützen die Erforschung der Bienenhaltung, indem wir innerhalb und außerhalb des Bienenstocks Sensordaten erheben, sammeln und aufbereiten.

Fehler, Manipulationen und Betrugsversuche in den IT-Systemen von Firmen automatisch erkennen: Das soll künftig mit DeepScan gelingen. Entwickelt wird das neue System an der Universität Würzburg.

Wir suchen für die internationale Konferenz ECML-PKDD, die vom 16.-20.09.2018 in Würzburg statt findet, ab sofort zwei studentische Hilfskräfte.

Prof. Hotho was presented with the SWSA Ten-Year Award at the International Semantic Web Conference 2018 in Moneterey for the paper "Semantic Grounding of Tag Relatedness in Social Bookmarking Systems".
