    Lemmerich, Florian

    Dr. Florian Lemmerich

Florian is a postdoctoral researcher. His research focus is on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining. In particular, he aims at integrating fundamental research in practical tools and applications. In March 2014, Florian defended his PhD thesis on “Novel Techniques for Efficient and Effective Subgroup Discovery”, supervised by Prof. F. Puppe.

    Main Research Interests include:

    • Pattern Mining (especially Subgroup Discovery and Exceptional Model Mining)
    • Interactive Knowledge Discovery
    • (Social) Web Mining
    • Efficient analysis of big data
    • Data Mining Tools

    Awards:

    • Best PhD in Computer Science at the University of Würzburg (2014)
    • Best paper on knowledge discovery at the European Conference on Machine Learning and Principles and Practice of Knowledge Discovery in Databases (ECML/PKDD 2013):
      Lemmerich, F.; Becker, M. & Puppe, F.: “Difference-Based Estimates for Generalization-Aware Subgroup Discovery.”
