The award recognises outstanding work in the development of innovative AI algorithms to track and predict satellite movements and activities in orbit using passively collected data. David Baldsiefen, one of the main prize winners, impressed the jury with his solution for precisely recording and analysing satellite patterns. His approach combines state-of-the-art algorithms with a new methodology for pattern recognition, which significantly increased the accuracy of predictions.

Such technologies are essential for future space missions and the monitoring of near-earth space.
