New in the Department of Computer Science
10/01/2010On October 1, 2010 Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sergio Montenegro started the new chair of Computer Science VIII.
Prof. Montenegro studied Computer Science in Guatemala and Berlin. In 1989 he received his PhD degree from TU Berlin.
After a position as project manager and research coordinator he worked most recently as head of Central Avionics at DLR in Bremen.
The research focus of Professor Montenegro is ultra-high reliability in aerospace technology. The reliability is largely determined by onboard software, but the onboard hardware has to provide the necessary resources.
In the coming winter semester, Prof. Montenegro will give the lecture “Microprocessors and Computer Architecture” as well as the seminars “Satellite Sensorics and Actuatorics” and “Orbit Simulator for the University of Würzburg”.
