Modeling the Meaning of Information

Intelligent information management tasks rely on knowing about the semantics of information objects. In this talk, I want to describe some complementary avenues that we have pursued towards modeling the semantics of information objects. Some of them deal with discovering their implicit semantics from data such as text and location or even from following people's gaze, others rely on explicit, collective modeling in the Semantic Web
