10/01/2022We warmly welcome Prof. Dr. Marco Schmidt as University Professor for Sensors and Embedded Systems for Earth Observation at the Chair of Computer Science VIII.
From 2021 to 2022, Marco Schmidt was a professor at the newly founded CERI Institute (Center Robotics) at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt. Previously, from 2014 to 2021, he was a professor at Bochum University of Applied Sciences, where he initiated the Robotics and Computer Technology working group at the Velbert Heiligenhaus campus.
Marco Schmidt studied computer science at the University of Würzburg. After graduating in 2006, he began working as a research assistant in the field of space technology. In 2011, he received his doctorate (Dr. rer. nat.) from the University of Würzburg. Before being appointed to Bochum University of Applied Sciences, he was a professor of Telematics with a focus on intelligent systems.
