70 high-school students who regularly take courses at the University of Würzburg have now received their certificates for the previous summer semester. Among them, student Sebastian Weingärtner has received particular attention by the media. He is the first student in Southern Germany to complete a university degree while going to high-school.

For the first time, the Rotary Club Würzburg awards its cultural prize to a technician. The award is endowed with 3.000 euros and goes to computer scientist Marco Schmidt from the University of Würzburg. Marco, who is a PhD student of Prof. Schilling, is honored for his work on satellite networks.
