At the ceremony commemorating the University foundation on May 13th, Christian Reitwießner was awarded the joint PhD award of the Lower-Franconian Memorial Foundation for Science and the University of Würzburg. Christian completed his dissertation "Multiobjective Optimization and Language Equations" last year and then spent a year as a Postdoc in Chile.

First-year students in mathematics, computer science and physics receive excellent supervision at the University of Würzburg, among others due to the project "JIM". The Bavarian Minister of Science, Dr. Wolfgang Heubisch, came to learn more about the project – in conversations with students and lecturers.

Shopping, bank transactions, tax declarations: more and more private matters are handled via the Internet. However, data security often comes off badly. In a new project, computer scientists of the University of Würzburg investigate how this can be changed. The project receives half a million euros of support.
